In this class, we will be discussing China's Systematic Action on Food Loss Reduction and Policy Support. In this lecture, we will explore the philosophy of food saving and loss reduction and how China has reached a consensus on the importance of food and reducing food loss. We will also examine how China has systemized the entire industry chain to promote loss reduction and the laws, policies, standards, and management measures that have been put in place to support this effort. China recognizes the importance of food security and has made significant progress in reducing food loss in the past decade. However, there is still much work to be done, and we will examine the measures that China has put in place to address this issue. We will also discuss the role of government departments and agencies in this effort, as well as the importance of scientific and technological research, advanced technologies, and nationwide publicity to promote food saving and loss reduction. By the end of this lecture, you will have a better understanding of China's philosophy and approach to food saving and loss reduction, as well as the policies and measures that have been put in place to support this effort.

From 2005 to 2006, he served as Deputy Division Chief of Grain Storage Department at the State Administration of Grain. From 2006 to 2016, he served as Division Chief of Science and Technology Division of State Administration of Grain. From 2016 to 2018, he served as Deputy Inspector at Storage and Technology Department of SAG. From 2018 to now, he serves as the Deputy Director General at Storage Safety and Science & Technology Department of NAFRA. Senior Engineer YAO Lei Yao Lei, Division Chief, Storage Safety and Science & Technology Department, National Food and Strategic Reserves Administration (NAFRA), P. R. China. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science and Technology from Beijing Agriculture College in 2002. He received his Master’s Degree in Food Marketing and Quality Management from Harper Adams University College in UK in 2003. From 2009 to 2015, He served as an Engineer at the Academy of State Administration of Grain, and was engaged in food science project management. From 2015 to 2018, he served as Deputy Division Chief and Division Chief of the Science and Investigation Division at the State Administration of Grain.
