The course illustrates the clarification and the quality of the fresh agricultural products as well as the successful practical of the supply chain. It explained the "contract farming model" and Chinese food safety management system. This demonstrated the important role of developing fresh food supply chain in extending the sales period of agricultural product, increasing the competitiveness of agricultural products and helping smallholder farmers access to the market.

Xiao Hongmei is engaging in teaching, scientific research and industrialization of food storage and processing in Nanjing Agricultural University since 1994, who presided over more than 10 national, ministerial and provincial projects, published more than 50 relevant research papers, 8 Chinese invention patents. The project achievements have been transformed and applied in the storage and processing of fruits and vegetables such as blueberries, figs, strawberries and tomatoes, which were also received high praise from relative enterprises, farmers and the government.
