The course introduced the general information of soilless culture, explained the principles of different soilless culture systems and methods and how to prepare nutrient solution. Detailed information on tomato and cucumber soilless culture techniques were also provided.

Liu Wei

Professor

Liu Wei is a researcher focusing on protected horticulture and soilless cultivation, working at the Beijing Academy of Agriculture and Forestry Sciences' Vegetable Research Institute. As the chief expert of the vegetable technology service team and a cultivation position expert of the Beijing Facility Vegetable Innovation Team, she has dedicated her research to the advancement of soilless cultivation techniques for vegetables. Liu has developed over 30 types of vegetable soilless cultivation technologies and created efficient cultivation models like DFT hydroponics, column cultivation, and pipeline cultivation.
