This course will study on straw and manure fermentation methods for organic fertilizer production. Learn practical operation skills to produce high-quality organic fertilizers, including stacking and mixing materials, adding water and a starter culture, covering the pile, and monitoring temperature and moisture levels.

 

This course is part of a series of technique training focusing on vegetable cultivation and poultry feeding, offered under the Country Pilot Project titled "Sustainable Agriculture and Value Chain Development SSTC Cities Project Pilot Initiative in Nepal".

Professor

Liu Xian is a professor at China Agricultural University, focusing on agricultural biophysical engineering. Her research primarily revolves around the engineering characteristics and property representation of agricultural biomass. She has made significant contributions, such as establishing a foundational characteristic database for biomass straw and by - products in North China. She developed innovative feed analysis methods and rapid spectral analysis technologies, filling domestic gaps and reaching international advanced levels. Additionally, she created specialized near - infrared spectrum detection instruments for biomass feed and set up quality - safety detection platforms, promoting technological applications in countries along the "Belt and Road".
