This course provides professional guidance on the construction of agricultural product storage and preservation facilities, emphasizing the essential role of storage in the full "field to table" supply chain. Scientific cold storage design and layout are fundamental to maintain product quality, reducing post-harvest losses, ensuring food safety, and improving economic returns. The course is organized into three core modules. The first module examines the nature, classification, and characteristics of agricultural product cold storage, covering two architectural forms (single-story and multi-story structures) and three functional categories (refrigerated, precooling, and controlled-atmosphere storage), along with their respective advantages, limitations, and suitable scenarios. The second module outlines three key conditions for warehouse site selection: transportation, procurement and distribution, and environmental sanitation. The third module provides systematic explanation of large-scale warehouse layout strategies, including major factors, core layout principles, and detailed design of spatial and interior warehouse layout. This course provides practical and actionable guidance for agricultural practitioners, cold chain operators, and facility construction planners to optimize storage facility design and operation.
